After several years without connection, it is time. Time to reconnect. To come together as a community. To become whole. To start or continue your wellness journey.
As the owner of a holistic wellness shop, Heather is frequently asked how to find resources. In the past, she would direct people to the directory of Tone magazine. It was the source for holistic practitioners and those searching for solutions to come together in a meaningful way. When it disbanded, people were at a loss to discover ways to find the resources they needed, whether it was a holistic treatment, sound therapy instruments, a yoga class, or wellness products. Then, COVID set us
back as a connected society so Heather and Louise partnered up to create a new wellness community resource hub in the form of Holistipedia.ca.
How is holistic wellness different from conventional wellness?
Holistic wellness refers to the overall well-being of an individual including their physical, mental, emotional, environmental, financial, social, occupational and spiritual health. It involves taking a comprehensive approach to health that considers all aspects of a person's life, rather than simply addressing isolated symptoms or conditions.
The holistic approach to wellness emphasizes the interconnectedness of all aspects of a person's life and how they contribute to overall health and well-being. This approach recognizes that physical health is only one aspect of a person's overall well-being and that mental, emotional, environmental, financial, social, occupational and spiritual health are just as important.
Some key components of holistic wellness include a balanced and nutritious diet, regular exercise, stress management techniques, adequate sleep, healthy relationships, mindfulness and meditation practices, and engagement in meaningful activities.
By taking a holistic approach to wellness, individuals can enhance their overall quality of life, prevent disease, and promote longevity. It is important to remember that everyone's path to holistic wellness is unique, and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. This is where Holistipedia comes in: by providing an online resource. It is a venue for information as a resource hub for the community that identifies the eight dimensions of wellness. It is the hub for events, podcasts, articles, references and your source for connection to achieve ultimate health on your wellness journey.
