Emotional well-being education activities
Emotional Well-Being Institute Canada
The Emotional Well-Being Institute Canada (EWBI Canada) is a not-for-profit multicultural society dedicated to advancing emotional well-being for human flourishing, prosperity and happiness in our communities and societies. EWBI envisions a society in which all Canadians and Newcomers have access to culturally informed services and assets for gaining knowledge and practices for emotional wellbeing.
The Society aims to be an influence for change, through positive engagement and knowledge gain for the transformation of mental health referral and practice toward culturally informed approaches. EWBI-Canada has adopted a strategic plan including the development of a Cultural Informed Emotional Well Being Framework and envisioning the creation of a Center for Emotional Wellbeing to foster this transformation.
EWBI-Canada’s current focus is engagement with communities, traditional wellness practitioners, and researchers toward the creation of a Culturally Informed Emotional Well-being Framework; a strength-based perspective of healthy living, guided by culturally informed and holistic healing, including the right to self-determination, the need for cultural understanding, recognition of human rights, recognition of cultural diversity, inclusive society and elimination of racism and stigma. This framework will enable the integration of culturally informed emotional well being practice in social prescribing and mental health service delivery in Canada. This work will start with a focus in British Columbia’s south coast region, and gradually expand as EWBI-Canada builds capacity and secures funding.
EWBI-Canada is affiliated with EWBI-Geneva an international organisation for global professional networking for emotional wellbeing. EWBI-Canada endeavors to work closely with EWBI-Geneva in leveraging, among UN Sustainable Development Gaols (SDGs), specifically the goal # 3: Ensuring healthy lives and well being for all at all ages and generally the goal # 17: Parterships with stakeholders for contributing to all goals.
Teach Resiliency
Teach Resiliency is a door to an online library that has practical and evidence-informed resources and tools to support mental health in our classrooms and schools—for students as well as educators. It’s also a place to learn from one another: to exchange ideas, create new resources, and share important perspectives and ideas.
When teachers connect to information about mental health and resiliency, to tools and resources, to one another, and to researchers, they are supported on their journey towards engagement and energy at work and school, academic and professional satisfaction, and building healthy futures for themselves and their students.
Arthritis Society of Canada
Arthritis Society Canada is dedicated to extinguishing arthritis. We represent the six million Canadians living with arthritis today, and the millions more who are impacted or at risk.
Fueled by the trust and support of our donors and volunteers, Arthritis Society Canada is fighting the fire of arthritis with research, advocacy, innovation, information and support. We are Canada’s largest charitable funder of cutting-edge arthritis research. We will not give up our efforts until everyone is free of the scorching pain of arthritis.
